Abstract

In the space gravitational wave detection, it is necessary to keep the test mass free falling. However, accumulated charges on the test mass in the space environment can produce additional electromagnetic noise, requiring effective charge management of the test mass. This article analyzes the sources of charge and noise, and summarizes the principles of the charge management system. Then introducing the development of relevant simulations and experiments of the charge management system, and the research status based on UV-LED is analyzed. On this basis, a charge management system for test mass of inertial sensor based on UV-LED is designed, and the parallel plate experiment of charge management and the prototype experiment of charge management system are conducted in the laboratory, laying the foundation for the subsequent space experiment of the charge management system.
